Wascha Mesa was composed by Hans Newsidler (1508-1563), originally for the Lute. It revolves around major and minor triads, mostly in open spacing (click here for the lesson on triads).
Once you know the triads, then playing the runs in-between the chords becomes much easier, as your left hand is anchored and doesn't need to move much.
